‘Big twins’ add up to 23 pounds at birth

The two kids in the picture above may not look like newborns–I’d think they look at least six months old–but twins Sean William Maynard and Abigail Rose Maynard were brought into this world just this week in North Carolina, USA.
Sean weighs 10 pounds, 14 ounces while Abigail Rose tips the scales at 12 pounds, 3 ounces. Their combined 23 pounds, 1 ounce is about four pounds shy of the all-time record, but I’m pretty sure it’s enough to make their mom glad she had a c-section.
